HOW IT WORKS

01 — We Start With Your Work

The process from first contact to confirmed podcast booking.

Podcast placement should not feel like handing your name to an agency and hoping something comes back.

At Unforgettable Read, the process is built around research, relevance, personalization, and persistence. We take the time to understand your work, identify the conversations where it belongs, build the pitch around the specific host, and manage the outreach and follow-up for you.

You bring the expertise, the story, the book, and the ideas.
We find the right rooms for them.

Research comes before outreach.
We don't begin with a giant list of podcasts and ask which ones might accept you.
We begin by understanding you.

Before we contact a single host, we look at your book, your professional background, your area of expertise, the subjects you are known for, the people you want to reach, and the conversations you are uniquely qualified to contribute to.

We look at questions such as:
• What is the central idea behind your work?
• Who is most likely to care about it?
• What problems does your expertise help people understand or solve?
• What conversations are you already known for having?
• What makes your perspective different from other guests in your field?
• Which podcast audiences are already interested in these subjects?
• What could you discuss that would genuinely give a host something worth building an episode around?

This research becomes the foundation of the entire campaign.

We don't ask:
“Which podcasts can we get you on?”
We ask:
“Where does your work naturally belong?”

That distinction changes everything.

02 — We Find The Right Podcasts

Not the biggest shows. The most relevant conversations.

A podcast can have thousands of listeners and still be the wrong place for your work.
Another show may have a smaller audience but be followed by exactly the people you want to reach.

That's why we look beyond basic podcast categories.

We research:
• The audience — Who actually listens to the show, and what subjects keep them engaged?
• The host — What does the host care about? What kinds of guests do they invite? What conversations do they return to?
• The show itself — What topics have recently been covered? What types of guests have appeared? Where might there be a natural opening for your perspective?
• The opportunity — Is there a meaningful reason for you to be part of this conversation now?

The goal isn't to put your name on as many podcast lists as possible.
The goal is to identify podcasts where your appearance would make sense to both the host and the audience.

03 — You See The Opportunities Before We Pitch

You should know where your name is going.

Once the initial research is complete, we identify the strongest opportunities for your campaign.

For each opportunity, we can explain:
• why the podcast is relevant to your work
• who the audience is
• what makes the show a potential fit
• what conversation we would introduce
• why your particular experience or expertise gives you something valuable to contribute

You are not simply handed a list of podcast names.
You understand why each opportunity was selected.

And before outreach begins, you have the opportunity to review and approve the direction.
Nothing is sent blindly on your behalf.

04 — We Build A Pitch For The Host

One host. One show. One reason to say yes.

This is where generic podcast outreach ends and our process begins.

We don't take one paragraph about you and send the same message to dozens of hosts.
Instead, we build the pitch around the specific podcast.

That means understanding the host's interests, the show's existing conversations, and the audience they have built.
Then we connect those things to your work.

A strong pitch answers a simple question:
Why would this particular host want to have this particular person on their show?

The answer might come from your professional experience.
It might come from an unusual perspective in your book.
It might come from a personal story.
It might come from a subject you have spent decades studying.
Or it might come from a conversation the host has not yet explored from your particular angle.

The pitch is built around the conversation, not simply around your credentials.

05 — We Handle The Outreach

You don't have to spend your week emailing podcast hosts.

Once the pitch is approved, we take the outreach off your plate.

We identify the appropriate contact, send the personalized introduction, track the conversation, monitor responses, and manage the communication required to move the opportunity forward.

That means you don't have to:
• search for host contact information
• research hundreds of podcast websites
• write a different email for every host
• remember who was contacted
• figure out when to follow up
• keep track of which host asked for more information
• spend hours wondering whether someone ever saw your message

We manage the process so you can stay focused on your actual work.

Your job is to be the expert.
Our job is to create the opportunity.

06 — We Follow Up

A quiet inbox is not the end of the campaign.

Podcast hosts are busy.
They receive emails, record episodes, manage their businesses, travel, publish content, and communicate with guests.

A lack of response does not necessarily mean a lack of interest.

That's why follow-up is built into the campaign.

We track outreach and follow up thoughtfully rather than sending the same message repeatedly.

If an opportunity requires a different angle, additional information, or a better reason for the host to respond, we can adjust the approach.

And if a particular show isn't moving forward, we continue researching other relevant opportunities.

We don't build campaigns around one email.
We build them around consistent, intelligent outreach.

07 — When A Host Says Yes

The goal is not an interested email.
The goal is a confirmed interview.

When a podcast host expresses interest, we help move the conversation toward an actual booking.

That can include coordinating the next steps, making sure the host has the information they need, and helping clarify the interview details.

Once the booking is confirmed, you know:
• The show.
• The host.
• The conversation.
• The audience.
• The next step.

You aren't left wondering what happens next.

08 — We Help You Prepare For The Conversation

Getting booked is only part of the opportunity.

A podcast interview gives you time with an audience that may have never encountered your work before.
That time matters.

So once a booking is confirmed, we can help you prepare for the conversation.

Depending on the campaign, preparation can include:
• understanding the podcast audience
• reviewing the host's interview style
• identifying likely discussion points
• developing strong conversation angles
• organizing key stories and examples
• preparing talking points around your book or expertise
• thinking through how to naturally mention your work without turning the interview into a sales pitch

The objective is simple:
You should walk into the interview knowing why the conversation matters.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A PODCAST DOESN'T RESPOND?

Not every host will respond.
Not every podcast will be available.
And not every show will be the right fit.

That's normal.

A professional podcast campaign is not based on assuming that every pitch will turn into a booking.
Instead, we look at the campaign as an ongoing process.

If a host responds positively
We help move the conversation toward booking.

If a host asks for more information
We provide the relevant information and keep the conversation moving.

If a host doesn't respond
We follow up appropriately and continue working through the campaign.

If a podcast turns out not to be the right fit
We move our attention toward another relevant opportunity.

The objective is not to force a particular podcast to say yes.
It's to keep finding the right conversations.

THE CAMPAIGN DOESN'T END AFTER THE FIRST EMAIL

Research continues.
Pitching continues.
Follow-up continues.

This is important because podcast placement is not simply a database exercise.

The podcast landscape changes.
New shows appear.
Hosts change their formats.
Existing shows introduce new subjects.

A podcast that wasn't relevant six months ago may become highly relevant today.

That means good placement requires ongoing attention.

We continue looking at the landscape, identifying relevant opportunities, refining angles, and managing outreach throughout the campaign.

The work doesn't stop simply because the first batch of emails has been sent.

WHAT YOU HANDLE VS. WHAT WE HANDLE

You bring the substance.
Your expertise.
Your experience.
Your story.
Your book.
Your ideas.
Your perspective.

We handle the placement process.
Podcast research.
Audience research.
Host research.
Opportunity selection.
Pitch development.
Personalized outreach.
Follow-up.
Communication.
Booking coordination.
Interview preparation.

The division is simple:
You focus on having something worth talking about.
We focus on finding the people who want to hear about it.

A PROCESS BUILT AROUND RELEVANCE

There is no shortage of people promising podcast exposure.

But exposure by itself isn't the objective.
The objective is to put your ideas in front of an audience that has a reason to care.

That's why our process is deliberately slower and more thoughtful at the beginning.

We research before we pitch.
We personalize before we send.
We follow up rather than disappearing.
And we look at the quality of the conversation, not simply the number of podcasts contacted.

Because the right podcast appearance can become more than an interview.

It can introduce your book to new readers.
Your expertise to new clients.
Your story to someone who needs it.
Your ideas to people who have never encountered your work.
And your name to an audience that may continue following what you do long after the episode ends.

READY TO PUT YOUR WORK IN THE RIGHT CONVERSATIONS?

You shouldn't have to become a podcast booking expert to appear on the podcasts that make sense for your work.

You bring the knowledge, experience, and story.
We handle the research, positioning, outreach, and follow-through required to put that conversation in the right room.
